PostScript® Printing Without a Printer- Windows® XP - Part Three

5. The next screen asks you to choose a manufacturer and printer. In this case we will choose Apple® as the manufacturer (but this is not the only manufacturer of PostScript printers). If you don't see Apple as an available manufacturer, then you can click the "Have Disk" button and install it from the operating system CD that comes with the computer. The point is that there are plenty of PostScript printers that come with the operating system so you need not worry if you have one or not. You may have to install them from the CD at this step, though.

From the left pane choose "Apple" and from the right pane choose "Apple Color LW 12/660 PS" then click the "Next" button. You can also choose one of the other "PS" printers from the list.

6. The next screen asks you to give the new printer a name. This will be the name of the printer which will appear in the Printers and Faxes folder and in the list of available printers in your applications.

Windows will insert the printer name into the text box. Choose "No" for the question "Do you want to use this printer as the default printer?" then click the "Next" button.
